Health and Safety Services & Facilities Management Office

The Health and Safety Services and Facilities Management Office is responsible for overseeing the health and safety of students and staff, maintenance, repair, and overall management of the college’s physical infrastructure and facilities. This office ensures that the college’s academic, administrative, and common spaces are safe, well-maintained, and conducive to learning and working.

This office is particularly responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the campus is ready to receive students and staff at the beginning of each semester.
  • Ensuring staff and students have the necessary furniture and space.
  • Ensuring effective operation of air conditioning units and other mechanical services.
  • Ensuring effective operation of the canteen/coffee shop and other facilities for students and staff.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and minor repair of all college facilities, including classrooms, offices, and common areas.
  • Ensuring timely response to maintenance requests and work orders.
  • Ensuring that all facilities meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting regular safety inspections and addressing any issues identified.
  • Coordinating and supervising external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance tasks or projects.
  • Maintaining records of safety inspections and compliance reports.
  • Planning and optimizing the utilization of space within the college facilities.
  • Allocating and assigning spaces based on academic and administrative needs.
  • Collaborating with academic/non-academic departments to support their facility needs and objectives.
  • Routinely surveying staff and students on their satisfaction with college facilities and implementing action plans for improvement.
