Bayan College is proud to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious International Student Support Award by ASIC, the government approved, UK based international accreditation body for COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES for providing the students exemplary support throughout the COVID-19 crisis situation.
In November 2018 a high profile, UK based accreditation body which included Dr. Maurice Dimmock, Chairman of the ASIC and team visited Bayan College. During the visit the delegations met with Bayan core members of staff, students, governance and management and paid a ocular campus tour and were very impressed with the exemplary support provided to the students by the College.
The chairman was captivated by the facilities and services provided by the Counseling and Guidance Center for students who require support and direction, the Career and Industry Engagement office in their role of preparing the grandaunts and students in pursuing job, interesting undertakings of the student affairs and the major role of the academic advising center and the writing support services in student success and knowledge acquisition. Overall, they were overwhelmed with all our department activities and functions.
Followed by the visit ensued the intensive international accreditation audit visit in February 2019 by Accreditation inspectors Dr.Geoff Boston and Ms. Florence Waniwa. The one week audit was rigorous and thorough and the inspectors met with the Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, Management, faculty, nonacademic staff members, and students from all levels, graduates and student advisory council. The assessment was in-depth and they visited every single office and departments and conducted rigorous inspection. They were very much entranced by the student club activities, all the student support services, health and safety provisions, facilities, employment rate of our graduates and the morale of the staff members. Though the audit was tough the outcome was very much glad and inspiring as we were accredited as a premier international institution.
The accomplishment and achievement of Bayan did not pause with the premier international institution status .The College was awarded the outstanding International College at the ASIC, International Conference held in Kuala Lumpur in the month of November 2019.
Now, we have been awarded the Best Student Support Award for providing our students with remarkable support throughout the COVID-19 crisis situation. Bayan College is the only College in Oman having the CANVAS learning management system that has effectively enabled us to deliver commendable virtual classrooms that have gained high student satisfaction and contentment.

“The level of entries was of a very high standard and it was so pleasing to see our institutions demonstrating an amazing duty of care to their students and staff and their local community. We also want to acknowledge your President’s empathetic and visionary leadership in enabling your students not to be disadvantaged either socially or academically and I applaud her outstanding leadership. Could I also commend your staff who were involved in making these changes and those who prepared the submission for the award”.
